Laura Spence

Founder & ADHD Midwife

I'm Laura — a midwife with nearly 15 years' experience and an ADHD diagnosis that changed everything. My mission is to transform how neurodivergent people experience pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

Before my diagnosis, I spent years feeling like I was constantly failing — disorganised, always late, emotionally overwhelmed. In reality, I was navigating the world with an undiagnosed neurodivergent brain. That lived experience became the foundation for NeuroNatal®.

Laura Spence, NeuroNatal founder

A better system for neurodivergent families

Neurodivergent parents are too often dismissed, misdiagnosed, or traumatised. Sensory overload, birth trauma, and executive dysfunction should not be treated as personal failings.

I saw first-hand how the perinatal system overlooks neurodivergent parents. There were no tailored resources, no inclusive clinical training, and a harmful assumption that one-size-fits-all. So I built what I needed and couldn't find.

NeuroNatal® is a neurodivergent-led, feminist, trauma-informed social enterprise reimagining perinatal care from the inside out.

Accessibility

We create multi-format, executive function-friendly tools that actually work for real neurodivergent brains. No gatekeeping. No jargon. Just support that meets you where you are.

Community

A safe, non-judgemental space to be seen, heard, and understood — whether you're preparing for birth, navigating the fourth trimester, or figuring out who you are now.

Empowerment

We centre dignity, not diagnosis. Our resources help you build the skills, self-trust, and advocacy power to navigate your perinatal journey in a way that works for you.
